Nick has lived in Western Pennsylvania for most of his life. The railroad line through his home town of Meadville initially belonged to the Erie Railroad but now sees Norfolk Southern coal trains and the Western New York & Pennsylvania's ALCO locomotives.
When he's not busy with trains, Nick has been involved with other forms of video production, ballroom dancing, photography, composing music, and playing bass guitar.
Nick is a frequent contributor to Blog Talk Radio's "Let's Talk Trains!" show. Additionally, he is known as a content developer for both Microsoft Train Simulator and Chris Sawyer's Locomotion.
Before he started the show, Nick primarily created music videos. The concept of ATR began to form in early 2008. Originally, the show was to feature a narrator talking to the camera with a variety of screen captures appearing in the video periodically.
Then, Nick was introduced to Miami Vice. He enjoyed the extremely popular police drama of the 1980s and its style. This made him think about making a show that combined music videos with informative product reviews. The British Car review show Top Gear also served as an influence in shaping what became At The Railyard.Nick thoroughly enjoy the process of creating these episodes and appreciates the large community that supports his work.
